Attendance Policy

An effort to attend every class should be made.  Their are no refunds for missed lessons.  Make-up classes are available, but do not count towards perfect attendance.

Students with too many absences, especially those close to performances may be denied participation in upcoming performances.

We do not hold students who attend every class back for those who do not make dance class a priority.  It is unfair to students who attend every dance class to have to repeat things they have learned in a previous dance class

Students who miss too many dance lessons, may "catch up" on missed lessons at the instructors convenience for an additional fee along with their usual monthly tuition.

Students are not permitted to take "breaks" or months off during the dance year.  If they decide to than in order to hold their class place, they still must pay their usual monthly tuition, along with any extra "catch up" class fees that they may need.  Dance is a commitment.  Students interested in performing in our annual recital must fulfill their commitment or they may be denied recital participation.
Uniform Policy

Uniform- All students must be in proper dance attire.  We do not permit students to participate who are not in correct uniform.  Students who are not in uniform will be asked to observe class and be marked absent for that day.
The following items are not permitted in any dance classes: t-shirts, tank-tops, sweatshirts, sweaters, jackets, jeans, pants other than black dance pants, boxer shorts, pajamas, half-shirts or any other form of unnecessary clothing.

*If a student comes into class in these items they will be told to remove them.  If the student refuses to remove them, then their parent will be called and they will be sent home for the day.

No Jewelry (except small, stud earrings)
ALL HAIR MUST BE TIED UP!!

Studio Rules
(failure to comply with our rules and policies may result in removal of student from dance classes.)

Respect your dance teacher: We do not accept disrespectful behavior.  If a student is disrespectful to their teacher they will be given a warning.  If the student continues to be disrespectful than their parent may be called to pick them up and have a meeting with the studio Director.  We don't like to give our time to students who don't want to learn.  All students who do not behave correctly may be asked to sit out or sit in our waiting area if the instructor feels it's necessary.
Respect your classmates: All of our dancers are here to learn.  We love providing and atmosphere where children feel confident about themselves and happy to come here.  We do not tolerate any type of harassment by students.  Students caught harassing other students will be removed from the class.
Respect The Studio!: This one applies to students, siblings and parents!  We can not babysit your other children while your dancer is in class.  It is your job to watch your children who are in our waiting area.  There is no playing in any part of our building other than the waiting area.  This can result in our studio being removed from the building.  There is no running or screaming allowed in the entire building (including our studio).  Also, no sitting on tables, jumping off of furniture, standing on chairs, or disrespecting any of our equipment (including walls and ceilings).  If a child or parent damages any or our property that parent will be in charge of replacing it with new equipment, regardless of how old our equipment may be.

This applies to students and siblings!  This equipment is very expensive and can be dangerous if misused.  We go over our rules with our new students at the beginning of the year.  We enforce these rules throughout the year if they are broken!

No toys are allowed in the dance room.  It is unnecessary and distracting to all dancers!  Please don't send your child into dance class with a toy.  We will take it away, which will probably result in an unhappy child.

We do not allow gum in the entire studio!!!  This applies to our waiting area as well.  Gum is dangerous while exercising, it may be accidentally swallowed leading to choking..  It's also messy and can get stuck to furniture or carpets.  Dancers will be told to get rid off it if caught with it.

Food and drinks are allowed in our waiting area only.  Please pick up after yourself and your children (or it may result in no food allowed in the studio).  Water in a closeable container only is permitted in the dance studio.

We have a viewing window in our waiting area.  This window will be kept with the blinds open unless: Students ask that we shut it (they are our primary concern and want them to feel comfortable), It gets to distracting (sometimes our younger dancers cry when they see their parents and run out of the room, if this continuously happens the blinds may be shut for that class).
We have two observation weeks where parents can sit in and observe classes.  We hold one in November and one in April.  Almost every time it is distracting to our classes and parents then understand why they are better off in our waiting area.
All students should stay in our waiting area until it is time for their class.
No random friends should pop in and observe.  We will have a bring a friend to dance class week in October, where your friends can join your dance class to see if they want to join.  Also, friends who are interested in lessons may observe with a note or phone call from their parent stating that they are interested in taking classes at the studio.  We are not a babysitter and will not except responsibility for children who are not registered in our programs.

Drop Off- Students should be dropped off at the studio five minutes before class time.  Parents are welcome in our waiting area.  For safety reasons we prefer to see a parent with our students at drop off time.  Students eighteen and over are welcome to escort themselves in and out from the building.  We share our building with other businesses and their clients, while in an ideal world we would like to believe it is safe for students to rome the building, this may not be the case, and we would rather not have to find out.

Pick Up- Please be on time to pick up your children!  In the past parents have been anywhere from 5-20 minutes late!  This is unacceptable.  We do not have a staff monitoring our waiting area.  If you are on time then your child's teacher will see you pick your child up.  If your child is the last class of the day, then you need to be on time.  Please respect the fact that our staff too have families that they want to go home to and might have events scheduled that day or night that they need to be on time to.  Once again, teacher's have been stuck at the studio in the past for 20 minutes after they were done teaching waiting for parents to pick up their children. This is just simply a courtesy factor, we are on time to  teach your children, please be on time to pick them up.
Actions that will be taken:
1st time- A suggestion of arranging other transportation.
2nd time- Parent will be billed accordingly for teacher's time.  (Failure to pay will result in removal from last class of the day.)
3rd time- Child will be removed from last class of the day.

Returned Checks- Any and all NSF checks received by the studio must be paid in full by cash or money order.  Payment must also include the standard $25.00 bank fee along with any additional fees given to the studio due to the "returned check."

Post Dated Checks- Please do not send a post dated check.  Tuition is due on the specific due date.  Any post dated checks will be considered late and additional late fees will apply.

Late Fees- Late fees are not optional.  When students payments are late it sets our studio bills back, leaving us with a pile of late fees.  Late fees that are not paid will be totaled up for the end of the year.  If they are not paid at the end of the year than recital participation may be denied.
Performances & Costumes

Performing is a major part of dancing.  It helps build confidence as a dancer.  It also gives parents an opportunity to see what their child has accomplished throughout the year.  Each year our dancers grow and shine more on the stage, everyone can tell that they have better self-esteem, have learned a lot in class and have grown more as dancers.
While we can't force anyone to perform, it is highly encouraged!

Annual Recital- Our annual dance recital is planned for June 28th.  This is an exciting event for all dancers and dance families.  It is the highlight of our dance year.

Recital Costumes & Tights: Costumes can range from $50.00 - $65.00 depending on the style and size.  All dancers will need at least one costume for each class that they are enrolled in.

Costume Payments:
1/2 Due: October 15th
1/2 Due: November 15th

*Costumes that are not paid in full by November 15th will not be ordered.  Costumes need to be ordered early in order to receive them in time for pictures and show time!
Rush shipping charges will be added to any orders placed after November 15th.
There are no refunds on items once they've been ordered!
